Ecosystem Relationship Management (ERM) DB

USER DOCUMENTATION

ERM is the one place where all startup partners are stored. It is built on an instance of VSTS.

You need all the pre-reqs to access ERM.

To access any of the quick links you need to be logged into the ERM in the first place.

Pre-requisites

> You need access to ERM VSTS (speak to Ecosystem team)
> You have an Exostar Forumpass account (speak to your manager)
> You need to be on GAD network (not open internet)


How to add a new Partner to ERM

1. Log into ERM
2. Navigate to "Work" tab
3. Hover on "+ New Work Item" > select Partner
4. Add the title and fill in other fields (mandatory fields displayed)
5. Assign the partner to yourself where it says "Unassigned" (under title)
6. Hit "Save"

Terminlogy explained

Details of what each field means in ERM and the reasoning behind it is written below.

Some fields are self-explanatory and hence not listed in the manual below.

Partner details fields
Title - Name of the startup
Unassigned -> select the name of the person adding the startup (yourself generally)
Country - please add UK, USA or the country where the startup is connected to you in
City - in the country where the startup is based or connected to you with
Ecosystem category - is one of the 4 categories for Ecosystem. Select the one that the startup most fits in
Known customers - add the most relevant ones
Description - add the description from website , please select relevant text
Discussion - is where you copy / paste any discussion you have with the startup over email

Primary point of contact
Contact name - please add in format firstname lastname
Job role - of the point of contact
Email - of the point of contact
Phone - of the point of contact

Partner technology details
Technology category - the list comes from Gartner and allows multi-selection
Tags - more granular information on the partner tech category, it can be multi-selection, and comes from Alan Turing institute + IOT SATAA model

Partner engagement_
NDA signed - yes or no
First engagement date - the date when you first engaged
Relationship - select what state are you in with the partner. This aligns to the pie chart Ecosystem follow
Source of lead - how was the startup originally found / referred
Management experience - add as you observe or find out from public sources. Relevant from a venturing perspective
Risks - relates to any negative signs from investors / customers engaged , etc. Relevant from a venturing perspective
